Salvation Army says “Gays Need to Be Put to Death”

sa1
Christmas, it is the time of the year for holiday shopping, and also hearing the bell ringers for the Salvation Army collection donations. Those donations provide Christmas dinners, clothing, and Christmas toys for children in need. The charity collects millions of dollars in donations every year, and they distribute it to needy families, seniors, and the homeless in keeping with the spirit of the holiday season.

The Salvation Army has expressed their Christian beliefs in the past, stating that they do not accept the LGBTQ lifestyle, nor do they stand up for gay marriage. Salvation Army went on record recently, stating that LGBTQ parents should be put to death as the bible instructs. Major Andrew Craibe, a Salvation Army Media Relations Director, went on public radio hosted by journalist Serena Ryan, to discuss a recent call by LGBTQ parents for a boycott of the nonprofit for its anti-gay policies and beliefs. 1. Having been a member of a non-profit service organization that had $500 in their budget for the Salvation Army...until I arrived on the scene to show to the group that the Anti Christian, homophobic, racist, bigoted S. A. does not deserve to be a recipient of our hard raised donation. The board voted to remove the S. A. from the budget. Kinda like we saved another $500 that was highlighted for the BSA, same reasons.....Walmart, etc, same boat. Adios dudes y dudesses

    1. First of all thats not a real quote and it was photoshop second being a Christian org. they would help all people..doesn't mean they approve of your lifestyle but, thats your choice and you'll have to answer to a much higher power then the Salv.Army but, they help all people when they are down.. So, its just another try to make Chirstians look bad..thats all and whoever just flys off the handle about this and makes the're own stupids quotes..well feel sorry for you.

    2. Your first mistake, as a "Christian", is thinking that being gay is a conscious choice. Why would someone choose a such a difficult life on purpose unless there was a biological drive involved? Enough said on this matter as people will never agree. But one more thing...unless they have committed a heinous crime, gay people who live their lives will never have to answer to any higher power as though waiting for punishment.

  2. Excuse me but I'm proud of my son and he use to support the salvation army and I did also but no more will we support them. I think you (the salvation army) need to wake up. People are allowed to Love whom ever they want and should not be put down or should be killed because of who they are. Stop before you say things like this because they already think they should hurt or kill them selves because of people like you. The gay communtity can't change the way they feel or who they Love. just because they don't Love the oppsite sex doesn't mean that they hate them either. I should know because my Son is Gay and I'm Proud of hime and what he stands for. Everyone wants to stop bullying well this is Bullying. What gives you(salvation army) the right to judge people isn't that God's right we all should Love Another not hate people who are different.

    2. thanks for your post, you said exactly what I'm feeling. my son is gay and I love him dearly, not for being gay, straight, white, black, but because he's my son and I loved him before and that didn't change when I found out. he and his brother are my best friends. I support his right to be happy and to choose who he loves. these finger pointers will be judged one day by our maker for not being more tolerant and loving towards all his children.

    3. I Completely agree with Dean Perdue! You both sound like wonderful human beings and wonderful mother's and/or father![?] The planet is in dire need of sensibly sentient beings like you two.

Reading this story, I got a bit touchy and depressed, even angry... until I read what anonymous and Trish McCullough typed--my heart & soul are touched.

Among all this chaos with our world, in peril because of the race for power, money and control over people, with things like 'religion,' being used as a coercer--your comments right here have lifted the pessimism and given me the nice thought that "Hey! Maybe the human species has a little hope after all!"

May you all receive the best and most positive energy from the Universe. <3

    4. Because God says it himself it should not be done. Romans 1:26-28 26 "For this reason God gave them up to degrading passions. Their women exchanged natural intercourse for unnatural, 27 and in the same way also the men, giving up natural intercourse with women, were consumed with passion for one another. Men committed shameless acts with men and received in their own persons the due penalty for their error. 28 And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind and to things that should not be done." From the word of God himself. I don't have the man, I hate the sin. God bless

    5. Just curious if these people that claim the bible says you can't be gay wear pure clothes. There may be a passage that says you can't be gay, but bible also says one shouldn't wear clothing of mixed fibers. Do you also go around saying people around the world who eat horse meat should die? It's amazing how many people call themselves true Christians and say they follow the teachings of the bible, yet pick and choose what they really follow. Don't see you all out there demanding someone be hanged for cheating on their spouse. Why? Because it isn't your place to judge. It isn't your decision as yo who should live or die. Leave that to the big man.

    6. All should remember that the bible is "The word of GOD as written by MAN." show me one bible that is truly written by God..... it does not exist. I believe in God, but I do know that he created us all equal, created us to love one another. History should serve to remind us that all history is written by the victors. That includes the bible.

  3. well there are going to be some problems there. one salvation army store i know is run by a woman whose daughter is a lesbian and they employ others for various things including the women's shelter and homeless shelter, one of the cooks in the soup kitchen is a friend of mine and is openly gay. nobody has ever said anything to him that i am aware of. is this something as a whole or is this the view of individuals?

    ReplyDelete

    1. It is the view of the organization. Individuals that are operating a salvation army may not have the same views as the organization or might not be aware of the views of their organization.

  4. The Salvation army is a poor excuse of an organization. I use to manage Section 8 properties years ago. Certain people who applied for our rentals learned how to scam the system. They would show us rolls of money, not a few hundred but thousands, they drove nice cars to. They were very proud to admit that they could get help & their first months security deposit from the local Salvation Army office. They also would get vouchers for furniture & other items from them. They cater to & help many of the wrong people, the people who need the help many times cannot get it. I have no use for the Salvation Army even more so after reading this article. The Homophobe Army!

  5. I am gay and grew up in the Salvation Army children's home and am appalled by this statement!
Its disgusting that a religion of peace and love can hate that much!
Also, if people want to take the bible literally then read the following..."A marriage shall only be considered valid IF the wife is a VIRGIN. If the wife is NOT a virgin, she SHALL BE EXICUTED!" (Deuteronomy 22: 13-21)

So lets kill all the woman out there that are not virgins when they get Married as well!!!
Guess its going to be a very empty planet after that!

    EVERYONE!!! GROW UP!!!!

    2. It's not the "religion" that hates, it's the people that do. Sadly, there are many so-called Christians that are so quick to pass judgement on others. They fail to realize that it's God's place to judge not ours. God loves everyone equally and knows you by your heart, some people are just too scared or ignorant to understand this.

    3. As a Christian this makes me sick. These people are pointing out the sticks in others eyes while ignoring the log in there own. Even as christians we are ALL sinners.

  6. I find this very disturbing. I am a Gay PROUD man. When I was younger, I have had numerous suicidal thoughts over bull like this. I thought it was my dirty little secret. I now realize that this is the way THE GOOD LORD MADE ME! I am not ashamed anymore of who I am, I am however ASHAMED of organizations like the salvation army, being so narrow minded. They are not supposed to be an organization that is to tell people what's right and what's wrong, nor discriminate, or so I thought! Grow up and worry about things that are actually important and can change the world and views of others, not be starting hatred!

  7. We are who we are, we love whom we love, we all hurt, we all bleed, take the time to get to really know people and you will see that we were all created equally, no matter what our preferences are about anything , not everyone is alike and thats what makes the world go around, if people want to injure people because they are gay, then how would they like it gay people kill them because they are not, whats the difference, just saying

  12. Okay so in the Bible it says that gays and lesbian should be killed? To the Salvation Army you need to look a little further into the Bible under Matthew chapter 3 verse 8 it says clearly shut the f*** up lol... how dare you call yourself a Christian.. I am gay and I'm proud and I'm an American. You guys are just like the Westboro Baptist Church.. fortunately they got beat up when they came to visit us here in Joplin Missouri after we had a tornado May 22nd 2011.. God will get you in his own way good luck!!!

  13. Bible also says a woman should be a virgin when she gets married, lets see how many get put to death for this one..

  14. Wow that's a shame, When I was a teenager I would be out there ringing the bell at Christmas time for them because my neighbor was In the salvation army So I would help out. and Even after I know that they weren't keen on gays I still would give money at Christmas because I knew that they kept none of it and it went directly to those in need, but Now sadly I will never support them again. God Loves all not just some.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Well thank you salvation army, I am never going to help you out again.

  16. So if a gay couple was to give them a donation and support them, they would chuck it back?!? I think not.... Yet they say do things/say things like this, everyone deserves the same treatment no matter what they believe. People should be judged on their actions not their lifestyle or beliefs, now the salvation army is to be judged on said actions.

  17. I cannot believe a so called "Christian" organization can put out so much hate and still call themselves Chrisitian. Prejudice and bigotry has no place in religion whatsoever. Shame, shame on them. I used to be a fund raiser for SA...no more. Karma will set in one day and they will get what they deserve.

  18. I feel sorry for the people who actually need the support of this organization. Unfortunately, I will no longer be supporting you, as my son is gay and I am very proud of him. He is in his third year of college and making the Dean's list as well. He is a caring individual and no different than any other human being. As for your Christian beliefs, you can shove them up your ass!

  19. Cmon people, Christianity does not hate homosexuals and is not homophobic, that picture is not a true representation of the salvation army, could be a couple of individuals, could be photo shopped , don't be so naive over a picture

    1. So they are lying about what the salvation army have said in the past?! Did you read it or just look at the picture?!?

      Delete
    2. "naive"? Ignorant is more like it and I'm not talking about the people outraged by the S.A. blatant bigotry & homophobia. The Salvation Army took their argument wanting to be able to discriminate on the basis of Sexual Orientation because it went against their religious beliefs. A fight they lost after taking it all the way to the Supreme Court. That hatred has one hell of a conviction. They should spend that kind of energy loving their fellow man and judging not. Those things were also in the Bible. Like SO many outdated things they pick & choose what works for them. It's a shame they have to exert so much energy hating and marginalizing others. These were the same idiots that fought against the civil movement and fought against the rights for bi-racial couples to marry which passed in the late 60s. They used the Bible as the handbook to deem those kinds of unions "unnatural" and against God's will. Find a Hobby or do something productive with your lives. Get off the cross already, we could use the wood.

    God Bless freedom of choice!

Not all of us Christians believe like these, but we are still grouped with those who do. i was shocked when I saw the article.

Guess I will have to put something else in their buckets this year. Like, oh I don't know...we gays are very clever and cunning. I'm sure I will think of something wonderful to donate.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Its SO SAD. I grew up VERY hard with nothing and being raped very young I had no place to go. The SA childrens home became my home and looked after me. In my young years, I also discovered I am gay but the SA childrens home accepted me and others like me because we were children and needed love and care. They didn't care about our sexuality and prevented a lot of suicides because of it.
Its sad to me that the good will now be undone because of a few idiots intolerance towards gay people.
I feel for those kids that are there when most funding gets withdrawn because if a stupid statement.

  32. Look closer at the picture. the girls are wearing volunteer aprons. Salvation Army members usually wear their uniforms when standing a kettle. not always but most times. The sign looks altered as well. like someone pasted that sign. I am not a member of that church either.

This looks faked and like a deliberate set-up.

    ReplyDelete
  33. You people are all effing stupid! So what if they don't support us! Will you seriously play by their rules and stop donating to them simply because they don't like gay people? What the hell does that achieve...NOTHING!!
All it does is prove to them how selfish we "gays" can be. If you want to be treated better then you need to treat better.
All you are giving them is a reason to hate us more.

  35. Their homophobia is well known. If you listen to OUTQ on SiriusXM, every Christmastime Michaelangelo Signorile makes it very well known of their refusal to help GLBTQ families. Infact they refuse to accept any family but the traditional one. I stopped giving them money the first time I heard about this. While they have done some good work through the years it MUST be made very well known of their official stance on the issue. What is strange is that so many of the bell ringers claim to be unaware of this. When I tell them they appear shocked. Makes me wonder if they are playing ignorance or told to play it. As it is in their hand book how can these people not know it?

I too agree we must look at having their tax exempt status revoked. This holds true for ALL religious groups who hold these sorts of views.

Remember "Whatsoever you do for the leastr of my Brothers (and sisters) you do to me." I am 100% sure if Jesus returned today he would embrace us.

  36. Wow, I finally have the right line to tell them every time I walk past that kettle! "Every time a bell rings a Fairy gets new wings. Thanks for mine Girlfriend"!

  37. this is so obviously photoshopped that you'd have to be a sucker to believe it. if anyone thinks that the whole world is going to support what they do, including homosexuals, bunny lovers, republicans, etc etc etc, then they are completely misguided. that said, the salvation is one of the most giving organizations on the planet. by dissing and hating them, you are dissing and hating all the homeless/hungry/needy people that they serve. i am not salvation army. but i support what they do. i think the homosexual population has every right to their lifestyle as well. open your eyes and your minds and look at the bigger picture. if there's hating going on from inside the salvation organization, it's some renegade big mouth and not the organization itself. they would feed/clothe/shelter you if you needed it and wouldn't ask questions.

  38. The bible also says you can rape and marry virgins and beaNumbers 31:7-18 NLTt your slaves to death. Deuteronomy 22:28-29 or condones Moses to commit rape and murder.
    Numbers 31:7-18 NLT

Of course these Christians pick and choose which parts of the bible they want to believe in. The religion forbids you to to question it as a lack of faith. I suppose that's why they call themselves sheep as they can't think for themselves

  40. UNCONDITIONAL DAMNATION

The five points of Calvinism should be expressed as unconditional damnation.

The premise of Calvinism that men have no free-will and that men can only be saved if God predetermines each person for salvation.

Calvinism teaches that men are saved are by unconditional election.

The antithesis of unconditional election is unconditional damnation.

    THE FIVE POINTS OF CALVINISM

    1. Total Depravity: Man is totally depraved so he cannot choose or desire God.

If total depravity is true, then unless men are unconditional elected for salvation, they are unconditionally damned to hell for all eternity.

    2. Unconditional Election: God unconditionally elects those whom He has predetermined to save.

If unconditional election is true, then conversely all others are unconditionally damned, lost outside of Christ.

    3. Limited Atonement: Jesus died only for those who have been unconditionally elected for salvation.

If limited atonement is a Biblical fact, then all who are not unconditionally elected for salvation will die in their sins because they will face unconditional damnation.

    4. Irresistible Grace: When God calls the elect for salvation, they cannot resist.

Those who are not called by irresistible grace will be unconditionally damned and will spend eternity in the lake of fire.

    5. Perseverance of the Saints: Once you have been unconditionally elected for salvation you can never be lost. Once saved always saved.

If God did not unconditionally give you the faith so you could believe and be saved, and you have no free-will to believe or reject Jesus; then you are unconditionally damned. You are once damned always damned.

God does not unconditionally save anyone nor is anyone UNCONDITIONALLY DAMNED.

THERE ARE NO POINTS OF CALVINISM THAT ARE SUPPORTED BY SCRIPTURE. [Read the whole New Testament and understand God's plan for mankind]

  41. Like so many others, the Salvation Army has decided to pick and choose what Scriptures they teach, using only single sentences that remove the TRUE context of the Scriptural Chapter, and leaving out parts that they do not like.
    Christ re-affirmed that only the Justices of the Law (items relating to how we treat one another, i.e. The Golden Rule) and not the Jobs of the Law (items relates to ritual and sexual taboos) are necessary to obtain Eternal Life. Jesus even said to the rich young ruler when he asked which Laws were the ones he must keep. Jesus told him "Don't murder, don't commit adultery, don't steal, honor your father and your mother - love your neighbor as yourself. [Matthew 19-16-19]. No other Laws are required. {Read Matthew 5:21-48 if you get a chance.}
This is a frequent tactic used by those that would subjugate another group, such as what used to be dome to Blacks or Asians in the past.
In taking something out of the context of the FULL SCRIPTURAL CHAPTER, you loose the true meaning of what it is all about.
